I can't believe how long it has been since the last post! Gosh, I am such a slacker! We have had one of the most special things happen this year. Our baby cousin, Jake, was born. Aunt Lauren and Uncle Wes are amazing parents and we love out little cousin and nephew! Also, this fall we went to NYC. I tood a promotion with my job and had to go to New Jersey for 3 weeks. Bryan stayed home with the girls for 3 weeks. He is such a good dad! Then he flew up with them and we sent to New York. We had such a great time! Ella Wesley asks all the time "when can we go back to New York City?" Life continues in our busy little family. We had wonderful holidays, Ella Wesley is LOVING MRA, Lucy is growing way to fast, and on and on. Lucy has become the funniest little child ever! Ella Wesley has become my sensitive little mother hen to Lucy. She is so protective of Lucy and her friends. She told me that one of her friends got hurt at school and it was b/c she wasn't watching her and helping her up the steps to the slide. She is so sweet! I have seen a complete transformation in her! Also, she has gotten recruited this year for her little gymnast self. At two weeks after her 5th birthday, she went to cheer camp and learned how to do a backhandspring by herself. She is loving gymnastics! Also, we did fall and spring soccer and she is quite the soccer player. We decided against t-ball this summer b/c she just didn't seem real interested in it last year. (Although now she keeps asking when t-ball starts). Also, we let her play basketball this year... she didn't have a clue what was going on! We are going to try to let her decide what she wants to do! I attended a Walk to Emmaus back in February. What an amazing experience. Bryan is going in a couple of weeks. I can't wait for him to have the same experience! I will do a better job of blogging! Promise!

Summer 09

I can't believe it has been so long since the last post. Such a fun fun summer! The highlight of our summer was a family trip to the beach with the Davis clan. All of us! Grammy, Poppa, Dick, Kaba, and Whit! We had a ball! Elizabeth was there to capture pictures of the rare occasion of us all getting vacation the same week! I feel so blessed to have such wonderfully supportive in-laws. Anyone that knows me has heard that no less than a thousand times. I have taken a new job! Started Aug. 1 with lots of home study and then big travel to New Jersey! I am not looking foward to this AT ALL! I am trying hard to convince Bryan to fly with the girls to New York to meet me one of the weekends, and I think we are almost there (fingers crossed). Lucy is getting so big. SHE IS HILARIOUS! We spend most of our time laughing at her! We have decided that we think she will be laid back and funny! She is such a jewel! Our big girl, Ella Wesley, started MRA this year. She has been going for a little over a week and she LOVES it! She fits right in and has made a ton of new friends! In fact, we have back to school night with her teacher tomorrow night. When I asked her what her teacher was going to say about her she replied..."her is gonna say that I am the sweetest one in the class... well maybe not the sweetest one, but I am sweet!"... what a honest little doll baby! Lucy's new thing is saying her name... and i don't EVER want to forget how this sounds... "WROOCY". It is precious.

There are so many precious, funny things that come out of Ella Wesley's mouth. I have yet to come up with a way to keep up with them, so maybe I will do this... put them on the blog. Lena always says, "you better write that down." She is so right... So here goes. Tonight, Bryan is playing church league softball, Lu is asleep and EW and i are rubbing each others feet on the couch. Just good ole quality time... and it goes like this... "mommy, when you eat too much do you get a baby in your tummy?" i kind of grin and just say "no." My mind is racing... not yet... i am not ready for this....and then she proceeds "well then how? .... mommy?........ how.... how.... how......mommy, how do you get a baby in your tummy?" oh my. I can't believe it is already this time. Lord, help me to answer these questions correctly. I love you, Ella Wesley, and your increasingly curious little independent self. And i couldn't be more proud to be your mommy!

Time for catch up!

There are so many pictures of the last month or so... I thought a new slide show was in order. Enjoy! I guess it's time to play catch up!!! This Davis crew has been crazy! Spring has been so much fun! Ella Wesley had her first dance recital! She was absolutely precious! We were all so proud of her! Also, she had her gymnastics exhibition! Again, she made us proud! We had a fabulous Mothers Day in Lexington and got to celebrate Whitney and Anna Kate's first birthdays together! We started playing t-ball again. Not real sure that this will be our sport of choice... but for now its fun! The most monumental thing that has happened is that Ella Wesley got on a bike with no training wheels and just rode it. We never taught her. She was so excited!!! This all happened on accident! So the very next day she was riding like she had been doing it for months! Little booger! Lucy is growing up oh so fast! She spent the night with Grammy and Poppa and they called to tell us that she asked to tee tee and they put her on the potty! She poo poo'd on the potty. Then, the very next night, she tee tee for us ! Since then, Mrs. Cordie has found her naked outside tee teeing! Funny little thing! We have been crazy with activities but we wouldn't have it any other way! I took Ella Wesley today to Grammy... it is time for their annual trip to the Memphis Zoo!!! She is so excited! Stay tuned for stories on that. I did hear that they went to ride gocarts tonight! They are spending the night with SUSU, Uncle Bill, and Brad! I am sure she is getting EVERYTHING in the world she might want! Maybe next year for Lucy! The rule is, no Memphis trip until you are potty trained!!! Lets see... what else... Ella Wesley finished her first year of real school this week! Crazy to think that! Oh my! Stay tuned! It is getting harder and harder to update regularly but I sure am trying!!! THE MASTERS!!!

Happy Anniversary to my hubby of 6 whole years today!!!!!!We celebrated this years anniversary at the Masters and had a ball!

Well, we had the opportunity of a LIFETIME this weekend. We were invited by Big Jake and Mimi to go to the Masters with them in Augusta, GA. We had a ball... a long car ride with our little munchkins, but something we will never forget. We got to see all of the bigtime golfers. Phil -e-baby Mickelson (my personal fave :)), Tiger, Greg Norman, Ernie Els, the 16 yr. old guy, Fuzzy(on his last trip to the masters), and the list goes on and on. Being around golf my whole life but never a golfer myself, I wasnt sure how into it I would be. Bryan and I both commented walking in on Friday that we felt kinda guilty b/c of all of the huge golfers that would give a million dollars to be there! We are hooked. Never again will we miss that tournament, on TV of course b/c we will probably never get that opportunity again. Not the typical Easter Sunday for us but we did die eggs, have an easter egg, and remember the real reason we were there. Thanks so much Big Jake and Mimi for a weekend we will never forget! We also got to spend the weekend with Uncle Wes and Aunt Lauren and the "peanut" growing in her belly!! YEAH!!! We are so excited!!!

CRAZY 2009

I know, I know. I have been terrible at posting. We have been super busy and haven't been thinking a lot about the blog. I will do better. We had wonderful holidays and just ended a 7 weekend streak of something to do every weekend. Things are slowing down a little for us now. The girls are growing so fast. Ella Wesley has her ballet and tap dance recital May 9th. She is already so excited about it. She had dress rehearsal this past weekend while I was out of town. Daddy did a bang up job of getting here there, hair done and all, dressed in her tutu and ready for pictures.... (I think, I haven't seen the pics yet).
We celebrated a BIG Mardi Gras season in Natchez b/c Big Jake was the Grand Marshall. It was a big time!
Also, we had another wedding most recently. Ella Wesley was flower girl for the 4th time. She is becoming a little pro. She just turns it on. So funny! Lucy is still as sweet as ever. She is getting a little personality and will give EW a run for her money. The most precious part of my day is seeing those sweet sisters interact. They truly LOVE each other!They each want to see the other one first and they just hug and hug everyday. Ella Wesley takes such good care of her. I am so thankful that they have each other! I guess that is about it for now. We are looking foward to some quality family time in the near future and mommy and daddy are gonna try to have a real date! Hope everyone is well! SO SO BUSY!

I really don't know where in the world the time has gone... somewhere between thousands of birthday parties, Christmas parties, neighborhood parties, school parties, and just good old friend parties, WE ARE EXHAUSTED! Lucy has somewhere along the way, gotten her own social calendar as well and we have been swamped. We wouldn't have it any other way. Well, our big event was Ella Wesley turning 4. It is so hard to believe that our first baby turned 4 on November 30! She asked for a trampoline, and she got it. Note the pictures of daddy doing flips on it AND A TOETOUCH! Who ever said he was a man's man??? He can get as cute and girly and we want him too! We have had such a wonderful Holiday season and are elated that Christmas is just around the corner! Ella Wesley has become such a big girl and I spent Saturday with her at a cookie exchange for all of the K3's at JA... she was such a doll. She gave up her seat when a friend didn't have a chance to ride on the seesaw, she helped her friends put on their shoes and even told them which foot was the right one. She hugged every friend she saw and thanked the mother who hosted the party ALL ON HER OWN. It isn't very often that a working mother gets to see her child interact first hand with her peers. And, I must say, I was humbled by the love she showed everyone. We all know she is one "full of life" little girl and the way her sweet little spirit showed on Saturday made me ever so proud to be her mommy. I love you Ella Wesley. Thank you for loving others the way that you do. Mommy and Daddy are so proud of you!

Ella Wesley had her first Ole Miss experience! She absolutely LOVED it and is addicted already! We let she and Lucy put on their cheerleader uniforms the night before but Lucy didn't make the trip! Thanks to Grammy and Poppa, she stayed with them and we got to have a day dedicated only to EW! The Lipscombs went with us and EW and K LOVE (kaleb) had a wonderful double date! Ella Wesley didn't really appreciate the Rebel Club seats b/c they weren't close enough to the cheerleaders! She was a little confused between a toe touch and a touchdown. She is learning though and she has HOTTY TODDY down!

Other than that, nothing else much going on around here. Just settling in to winter and loving the time change. It makes for more cozy family time at night before the girls have to go to bed!

LUCY'S FIRST BIRTHDAY!

Can you believe it..... Lucy turned 1!!! Since her little celebration isn't until next weekend... we had to have our little family party tonight. I took the girls to Kroger this afternoon and let Lucy pick out her own cake. Being the animal lover that she is, she picked a DOG cake. Isn't that funny? That would most probably only slide with the second child :). Anyway, we made a big deal of it and sang to her. Candle and all! She was so PRECIOUS! Ella Wesley was real helpful in making sure she knew exactly what to do with the cake.... so by the time the real party rolls around, she ought to be a pro! To my angel baby Lucy... Thank you for a wonderful year of nothing but JOY! You are truly a precious child. and to Ella Wesley... Thank you for loving our baby Lucy this past year in a way that she feels so protected by you. The love she has for you shows in her every single smile. and to Daddy.... thank you for my girls!

Crazy Week!

Hello again! Yes so soon! We have had an eventful couple of weeks so I thought I would catch everyone up! It started with Mayor Middleton... he pulled a good one. Dad fell last weekend through a window when a step on an old ladder broke beneath him. He severed his hamstring and tore lots of "other stuff". So, Lucy and I headed to Natchez for his surgery last Monday. The surgeon said he was less than 1/4 inch away from his main artery. This could have been very very bad. Our cousin who is a physician said that it sounds like dad was awarded 9 lives... YEAH! Really though, our good Lord was there with him... NO DOUBT. He was alone when it happened and couldn't get his phone to work but managed to get himself to the driveway and yelled for help.... Please pray for our BIG JAKE! THe doc said a year to a year and a half recovery. Could be a long road! On to better things... Lucy is walking EVERYWHERE! She is so independent! She scared us a little last week with some crazy fevers/ lab work but everything looks good. Now big sis is trying to get over a little funk herself! I guess first cool snap and everyone gets sick! Bryan went on his first alligator hunt this weekend. I mean WHAT WON'T HE HUNT? He kinda "has" to say he liked it but I really think that is one sport he can live without thankfully! Gran came to spend the night with us girls Friday night... Ella Wesley got to drive Lucy around in the Barbie Jeep for the first time. It was so cute. We had to do this when Daddy wasn't here. He would probably die if he had seen that! Then Saturday we went to the Day in the Country at the Chapel on the Cross. Very fun. EW got to ride the pony, have her face painted, all that good stuff. Then Sunday we went to Starkville for Anna Kate's Baptism. It was so sweet. The whole fam was there! We have all been trying for some time to get a picture of EW and John Davis similar to the one of Haley and Bryan when they were that age. I will post the only pic we got! It was a challenge! Then we rushed home for a SURPRISE BDAY party at our house for mom! She was so shocked! It was a ball being able to keep that from her! Thanks so much to all of the sweet family that made the trip on a Sunday night! I know it was alot to ask but it meant so much to her! Thanks for coming! Well, that about wraps us up! We have a baby shower, a bday party and Baby Whitney's Baptism this weekend! Look for another update soon!

It's so hard to believe that I haven't posted in a month. We have been swamped! My friend, Laurie, was telling me the other day that she wanted to start a blog but she didn't think she would have time to update it. Then she said "well you only do it once a month, I could probably do that." Ha Ha! I will try to do better! As most everyone knows, we got my brother, Wes, married off last weekend! We have been in huge preparations for that and it turned out FABULOUS! Everything was simply perfect! I have another sister in law now and I am thrilled about it! We had Gran for a week after the hurricane and enjoyed her stay. Now with the economic issues surrounding us... I called Grammy to tell her to clean out the closets, we may all be living in Lexington before long. She said she has a freezer full of food we can survive on. I mentioned that Kara being the educator can educate the children. Not sure where I will contribute but I will find something. Bryan says he is sticking my behind in the garden...scary!Let's see, what else??? Ella Wesley is loving school! She has picked up on some new phrases like "well ACTUALLY mommy...." and "he is just a little bit shy".... it's so cute. EW has started ballet and tap now and with gymnastics we are so busy! Not sure what we are gonna do when Lucy gets activities! Lucy is still just her sweet little self. She is taking several steps from here to there but for long distances, she still prefers her knees! Bryan turned Lucy's car seat around today. She is facing foward and is so excited. She squeeled the whole way home! Bryan and EW are headed to Lexington tomorrow to go see the horses. She is so fired up! Lucy and I are going to organize clothes and pictures... fun! Well, thats about it. Thanks for checking on us.

1st day of SCHOOL!!!

Well we did it... I was thinking on the way to drop Ella Wesley off at K3 that I really wasn't feeling emotional this morning about it. I knew I would be fine! I was wrong! We talked all the way there... she asked me "why are you going so fast mommy?" She told me "go faster and fast". "Beat that car". Everything is a big ole race to her. Well, we got there and she unbuckled herself ( I think that is what set me off)... You see she got a booster seat the day before and she is "real big" now. She told me on the way there that she was "gonna be real fweet (sweet) and she "wasn't even gonna bite nobody." Then Mrs. Holly reached in and grabbed her and told her to tell mommy she loves her... she replied..."I love you mommy and you are my sunshine." Alligator tears started falling. I left there and within minutes I was fine b/c I was certain she was holding her own at JA! She looked so cute in her little uniform. Although she was a little upset she couldn't wear the "tight leggings" today. (you know my little hussy likes everything real tight including her favorite size 18 month pj's). I told her she would get to hot in "tight leggings"... her reply... "no mama, I will get hot if I don't have on my tight leggings!" Daddy of course was the rock today. He took Lucy so I could spend time with my biggest girl. Then he was very accessible to me after pick up. I wanted to pick EW up from her first day but I had a girls birthday lunch celebration at Bravo at 11:45. So, as crazy as it sounds, he let me pick her up then he met us a block away and took EW and they went to lunch then to Mrs. Cordie's. What a supportive Daddy we have. He just simply understands when I need to do crazy things like that. Thank you Daddy! We spent my birthday weekend in Natchez. Had another party for Wes and Lauren. It was a ball. So hard to believe that the wedding is just over a month away. Oh well, that is it for us Davises. Thanks for checking in on us!

SO FAR BEHIND!

Hello there fellow bloggers!

I know, I know. I am so far behind. We have been simply crazy! Lots has happened since the last post. I have to look at my camera to see what all I have missed. Mostly the weekend of July 4th was a fun one. We spent the fourth with Grammy, Poppa, Uncle Dick, Aunt Kaba, and Whit. Aunt B came out too. We cooked (nevermind... Grammy cooked) and went down to the beach to enjoy a little swimming for EW and music. We had a great time. We then went on the 5th to the Lake and spent the rest of the weekend with the Middletons... We just got home from a week at the BEACH! We stayed this year at Blue Mountain and it was great! The Woodsons, The Russes and the Davis all went together and had a BIG OLE time! Lucy is everywhere... pulling up on everything... won't be long until we walk I bet. Ella Wesley mastered the swim thing. By the end of the week she was swimming across the pool! Although there is no place like home... we are settled in and enjoying being home! Gran came today and we found her a dress for the big wedding in September! So fun. Thanks for checking in on us!

Busy Busy Busy!

We're back! We have been so super busy! Isn't it just crazy how life passes us by while we are busy making plans??? In the last few weeks we have spent the majority of our time burning the roads up to Natchez. Between the election and Wes and Lauren... we know the Natchez Trace all too well! We did get Big Jake elected as Mayor! That was too much fun! Wes and Lauren had their engagement party last weekend and that was a blast! Now we can all focus on getting them married! Seems everyone we know (in my family anyway) is moving. So the Natchez folks are really just getting started. My sweet Nannie bought herself a house. After being in an apartment for way too long, she has decided to once again be a homeowner. They have been working hard on getting her house all fixed up for her to start moving in soon! She is THRILLED! I met Poppa today on the interstate and handed over Ella Wesley! She is gone to Memphis for a trip to the zoo with Grammy and Poppa! They are staying with Susu and Bill. I am sure she will be ROTTEN when I see her again -on Sunday :() --- To all of the Daddy's out there... Happy Fathers Day on Sunday! We are going to Lexington to spend Fathers Day with 3 generations of them! Isn't that special! To my Daddy--- I hope your day is wonderful! We love all of our Daddy's!!!!

Baby Whitney

We had another miracle occur in the lives of the Davises! Our Uncle Dick and Aunt Kaba had their precious baby girl! Whitney Rodgers Davis is here with us now and she is so precious! Dick and Kaba are FABULOUS parents and they are all doing great! Ella Wesley still calls the baby "Wilam"(there was a time we thought Whitney was a boy!) Nothing much new going on here. We have finished t-ball... and little Lu learned to crawl! Thanks for checking in on us!

HE WON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What a fabulous ending. It still seems like a dream. After an extremely long day in Natchez, things went our way! Dad was and still is so very excited! At his party after the polls, just before he gave his speech to his supporters, Ella Wesley screams "GO BIG JAKE!" It was so cute! We were all there to be a part. What a support group dad has. Thanks everyone!

Hey Friends!

To comment on the picture... Lucy was baptized on April 13th. Jennifer got this picture and I thought it was priceless...

The world of the Davises... it has been a wild one. We went to Natchez for the weekend because I had to work a convention for work. I ended up doing a little campaigning for Dad while we were there. Most of you know, but for those of you who don't, he is running for Mayor of Natchez. The election is next Tuesday, May 6th! Please pray for him. He would be such a fabulous mayor! He truly LOVES Natchez. It has been really fun campaigning for him. I told someone when I was knocking on doors the other day that Dad has spent my 30 years telling me and everyone else how "proud he is of me." It has been such a delight to be able to tell others how proud I am of him!!! Dad, if you are reading this, I don't tell you often mainly because I don't want to cry... but I AM SO DARN PROUD OF YOU! However this election ends, you are one awesome Daddy!

On the other hand, Lucy had "hand foot mouth virus" and Bryan has had his stomach issues. Lucy is better and Bryan is too, however we aren't sure what has caused all of this. We aren't gonna stop until we know. He had a gallbladder ultrasound yesterday and is having another scan to check if his gallbladder is functioning properly tomorrow. If it isn't, they will remove it. If it is, on to another scan... the gastric emptying scan on Thursday morning. He hasn't eaten a meal in over a week and has lost almost 10 lbs. He feels worse than I have ever seen him. Pray for our sweet Bryan. We are thankful for this beautiful weather! We were outside until 9pm tonight. Bryan and Wilson worked on the golf cart for 4 hours. For our 5 year anniversary (you know the one when you are supposed to get silver), he got a lift kit for the golf cart. Today he bought big mud grips for it too.... what to do with my little redneck? :) Ella Wesley ran around in her bikini (as usual), and Lucy has been a little doll! Thanks for checking in on us. Our Weekend

We had such a crazy weekend... Ella Wesley had her first t-ball game. It was such a site to see. She didn't really understand why anyone else should have an a. turn at bat, b. a turn to catch the ball, or c. everyones undivided attention. They were all so cute. Sat. night we had our cousin, Jane Gray's engagement party. It was a blast. She and Allan are the cutest couple this side of the Mississippi and it was fun. Bryan and I had our very first "hired" babysitter ever. What an amazing family we have. We have never had to pay a sitter. Mary Jane (the Woodsons nanny) came and kept the girls and they had so much fun. We were so relaxed that we went to have a little adult time with our friends the Woodsons after the party. Today we had a crawfish boil with one of my clinics and a birthday party. Jam packed weekend! When we got home tonight E Dub wanted to go for a swim at the beach. So we came in late for PB&J sandwiches and then crashed!
